If you’re planning a trip to the area you’d be mad to not include a Yallingup wine tour during your stay. Nestled in the centre of the world renowned Margaret River region, Yallingup boasts some of the finest wineries in not only the South-West of WA, but Australia.
Depending on your group and occasion, you may even want to mix it up with a trip to a brewery, distillery, the local tea house, chocolate maker or even Yallingup Maze. Most tour operators will cater for groups of all kinds and sizes, including everything from couples to families and large groups. They’ll also allow you to visit up to five different destinations in one day.
With so many great wineries within the greater Margaret River region, it’s likely that you’ll want to venture outside of Yallingup for at least one or two stops. However, today we’ll be focusing on some of the best destinations within the immediate area for Yallingup wine tours.
Cape Naturaliste Vineyard
Cape Naturaliste Vineyard is located within a stunning valley offering spectacular scenic views, burrowed just behind Smith Beach. The property was transformed into a dairy farm in the late 1800’s and the old stone milking shed now acts as the cellar door.
The combination of rich soil types found within the valley, along with the maritime location, dedicated farming techniques and biodynamic philosophy, allow Cape Naturaliste to produce award winning wines without the use of pesticides and herbicides.
They have been awarded several international accolades including the “Best Red from a Single Vineyard” at the London International Wine Show, and a “5 Star Vineyard” from James Halliday.
Dogs are also very welcome at the Cape Naturaliste cellar door. So if you’re travelling with your pooch and don’t want to leave them home for the day, Terry invites you to bring them along on your Yallingup wine tour. He’ll be more than happy to dog-sit while you visit a few other wineries that aren’t dog-friendly.
If you’re looking to enjoy some unique internationally award winning wine in a stunning location on your Yallingup wine tours, make sure you include a stop at Cape Naturaliste Vineyard.
The vineyard is located at 1 Coley Road in Yallingup and is accessed via Caved Road. The cellar door is open daily from 10:30am to 5pm, however they encourage bookings for large groups or tours.
Aravina Estate
Aravina Estate is one of the newer kids on the block, after being re-established in 2010 at the property previously known as Amberley Estate. The estate is nestled amongst the stunning setting of expansive vineyards across manicured gardens, rolling hills and natural bushland. They produce several distinctive wines including reds, whites and sparklings.
You can even enjoy some great craft beer onsite at the Beer Taphouse, which is open every weekend. Here you’ll find their very own 8Waves Brewing Co. on tap with the option of tasting paddles. You can also taste a huge range of Aravina wines and a comprehensive list of cocktails.
Aravina Estate is also a great option for lunch with both an À la carte Restaurant and Riviera Pizza Bar on the premises. The restaurant focuses on the finest Margaret River ingredients including seafood, meat, fruit and cheese all found and produced within the region.
After you’ve enjoyed some fine wine, beer and food, make sure you take a stroll through the WA Surf and Sportscar Gallery. Here you’ll find Western Australia’s best collection of surfing memorabilia, along with an ever changing collection of classic Aussie muscle cars, vintage cars and motorcycles.
Located at 61 Thornton Road, Aravina Estate is open 7 days per week from 11am to 5pm. The À la carte Restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday and bookings are essential, while the Riviera Pizza Bar is open 7 days per week, and bookings are not required unless you have a group of 20+ people.
Aravina Estate is another destination that we highly recommend on your Yallingup wine tours, so make sure you include it on your itinerary.
Swings & Roundabouts
Swings & Roundabouts is also another unique destination on your Yallingup wine tours. With a cellar door, bar and restaurant in Margaret River, the cellar door and vineyard on Caves road in Yallingup is where it all began. This destination offers a cosy and comfortable atmosphere which is a vastly different vibe to both Aravina and Cape Naturaliste.
At Swings & Roundabouts you’ll find an exquisite range of Mediterranean style wines to tantalise your taste buds. The restaurant provides a simple, rustic approach offering delicious flavours from meals that are designed to share.
Swings & Roundabouts is located at 2807 Caves road and is open 7 days per week. With the cellar door open from 10am to 5pm and kitchen open from 11am to 4pm, check their website for extended hours during the Christmas holiday period.

“Terry was fantastic and very knowledgeable of the southwest region. We had a lovely, relaxing day exploring!”
Emily Simpson
“The tour we had with Terry was excellent, managing 12 people can be tricky however Terry worked with our itinerary and contacted all venues during the day to provide an update on timings. As a local to the area Terry was also able to book us into a smaller vineyard which was exceptional. Thanks Terry, 4 families thoroughly enjoyed our day with you!”
Victoria Bosworth
“Terry spent the day driving our big family group to a number of venues yesterday. He helped book and organise wine tasting, was patient and helpful and we really enjoyed our day. Thank you Terry.”
